We’re seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of civil and water infrastructure projects across Queensland, ensuring outcomes are achieved safely, profitably and in line with client and contractual requirements.
This role would suit an experienced Project Engineer or a Project Coordinator/Site Engineer ready to take the next step in their career. Working closely with the Project Manager and Senior Project Engineer, you'll contribute across safety, quality, commercial management, contract administration and project delivery.
You'll gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of civil, structural, industrial and water infrastructure projects while coordinating site teams, managing subcontractors, and helping deliver successful project outcomes from planning through to completion.
What you'll be doing:
- Support the end-to-end delivery of civil, structural and infrastructure construction projects.
- Coordinate engineering and project delivery activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to specification
- Lead and promote a positive safety culture through implementation of project WHS Management Plans and safe work practices
- Administer contracts including procurement, variations, EOTs, notices and commercial risk management
- Monitor project budgets, cost control, forecasting, reporting and cash flow
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site resources to achieve project milestones and delivery targets
- Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation, managing RFIs, design changes and approvals
- Ensure environmental, quality and compliance obligations are achieved throughout project delivery
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders
- Mentor and support Site Engineers, Graduate Engineers and Undergraduate Engineers as required
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across project delivery
What you'll bring:
- Approximately 3-5 years' experience as a Project Engineer, Project Coordinator, Site Engineer or similar project delivery role within civil, structural, industrial or infrastructure construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience supporting the delivery of construction projects from planning through to completion.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project controls, contract administration and commercial management principles.
- Sound understanding of WHS legislation, environmental compliance and quality management systems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary project teams.
